DSG Transmission Fluid Filling Tool
CTA 7416 - 282201
Product Description
Like many modern conventional automatics, VW's DSG transmissions don't have a separate fluid fill port or dipstick. Instead, they use a "stand pipe", a hollow tube that goes from the bottom of the transmission's sump and sticks up to the fluid level surface inside. When you pump fluid in, and when the fluid level reaches the open mouth of the stand pipe, it'll start to dribble out when it reaches the correct level.
This all-aluminum filling adapter by tool specialist CTA makes DSG fluid and filter changes easy and precise. Use your favorite fluid transfer pump, or buy one of ours from Suggested Products below.
- Remove the drain plug, and put a new sealing washer on it
- Use an allen key to remove the stand pipe, and be ready for the old fluid to drain out
- Let the old fluid finish draining, then screw the stand pipe back in
- Thread in the CTA fill adapter
- Pump in 5 liters of fluid
- Unscrew the fill adapter and quickly (to minimize fluid loss) screw the drain plug back in finger tight
- Start the car, let it idle, and use a scan tool or an infrared thermometer pointed at the black pan to see when the transmission temperature reaches 95-115 degrees Fahrenheit (35-45 degrees Celsius)
- Unscrew the drain plug, wait for it to stop dribbling, then screw the drain plug back in; tighten to 33lb-ft (45nm)

Available to Order means the item may not be in our warehouse but is readily available from one or more supplier warehouses. After you order it, we will get it for you ASAP.
Products from major brand names are almost always in stock in the manufacturer’s domestic warehouse. These suppliers have good fill rates, but even if they are out of stock, we may be able to source it from a variety of alternative wholesale sources.
We are at the most a week away from all these warehouses, usually much less. Does that mean we will always have your product available within that window? Honestly, we can't promise that but we’ll do everything we can to get your parts to you in a timely manner.
